Book signing @ Pica Pica, “Taste everything” by Julia Allenby
Oct.11, 2010
Come by Pica Pica Maize Kitchen & Bar in Napa to meet author Julia Allenby and get a signed copy of her latest novel, “Taste Everything”. Tuesday, October 12th between 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Something about this novel to tickle your curiosity…
It’s about food, and learning to cook like a professional.
It’s about finding a place in the world (finally!)
It’s about re-encountering college life with a perspective brought by experience and understanding that every teacher brings different gifts.
It’s about feeling like anything can happen yet being pulled down to reality by uncontrollable circumstances.
It’s about watching your parents grow old.
It’s about turning up the radio when things get tough.
It’s about love.

SFWeekly Dish Event- great fun!
Oct.05, 2010
Last week Pica Pica particiapted in the SFWeekly Dish event. We served about 600 samples of our black chile with bite size arepas. The amount of people was insane! And there was a really eclectic and great showing of the SF food and bar scene. Check out the short video to get a sense for it:

A sandwich is a sandwich-because of the filling or the bread?
Aug.30, 2010
A mention in today’s QSR magazine talks about how the outside of a sandwich (i.e. the ‘bread’) is becoming as important as the filling itself. The arepa being one of these new approaches!
